Our mission is to provide a community arts center that enhances creativity and fellowship; that promotes the education, appreciation and enjoyment of the arts; and that celebrates the cultural heritage of our population.
Dancing Spirit always has a place for individuals with a strong sense of community and an interest in helping us grow and develop as YOUR community Art Center. The Dancing Spirit Board meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6pm. Board member applications are available at the Dancing Spirit office inside the ELHI Community Center located at 115 Ute Street, Ignacio Colorado.
Kid's programs, adult classes, arts, crafts and more! We would love to have you teach a class at Dancing Spirit. We have space for rent for you to teach your own class, or we can talk about you joining the Dancing Spirit team as a contract artist/program instructor.

Our volunteers make such a difference! There is room for a volunteer in almost every aspect of Dancing Spirit. From public art, to fundraisers to events and classes, we have something that will fit your passion. Come check out all the activity and help us find just the right place for you to get involved.
Dancing Spirit proudly hosts Ignacio's only co-op art gallery, run by the artists, and for the artists and community. We have spaces available for your artwork to be displayed and our low membership fee and artist staffing reduces commissions on any work that is sold. We also offer First Friday Art Shows with a featured artist from the gallery on the first Friday of every month!
